“I believe that the objects which surround us shape our senses.”

While working on any of my clay piece, I  search for a  balance between shape and its surface. I repeatedly touch it with my hands, hold it, turn it, smooth it, smell it… I take the object so many times into my hands! It is such a good feeling to form from clay.

I started working with ceramics intensively during my studies in London. At the college, whose history is associated with the flourishing of British studio pottery, I was fascinated by Japanese ceramics. Nevertheless, in that time I devoted myself to free creation and mostly experimenting with clay. That gave me basis of all different techniques of working with clay.

Searching for a working experience in a ceramic studio it brought me to Greece, to the fantastic studio of Norwegian artist Hanne Mi. There I improved my skill on potters wheel and gained great experience in running a ceramic studio. The enviroment of the beautiful island then became a inspiration for my own work, which I further developed in the Lesnická Studio in Prague. In a Art Nouveau house, I shared a space with the figurative sculptor Bára Hapalová. This place became an amazing background for me for four years, in which I was able to continue to create and develop my artistic style.

For the last few years I have been living with my husband and two daughters in Příbram, where my current studio is located in our house.

In addition to my own work, I teach various ceramic techniques and throwing. We regurarly organize worshops of Japanese technique called Raku with my wonderful ceramic friends in a charming cottage of our  teacher and great ceramic artist Helena Giras Kozáková Pekniková.
